Correcting details of registered trademarks

In case you identify obvious errors within the publication of your trademark's renewal or registration to the Trademarks Register, that may be attributed to the Intellectual Property Section, you may request their correction.

It is noted that no change to the graphical representation of a trademark is allowed after the submission of the relevant application for its registration. Furthermore, no addition of products/services to the products/services list is allowed, for which the application for your trademark's registration has been submitted.

Filing a correction

You may correct obvious errors within the publication of your trademark's renewal or registration in the Trademarks Register, that may be attributed to the Intellectual Property Section, by submiting, either through the electronic filing of trademarks or by hand / post, the application for the correction of obvious errors (form Ε.Σ 09).

It is noted that no fees are paid with the submission of the said form.

In case where the conditions for the filing of the above are not met, the Section informs you accordingly and requests that you take corrective actions within two (2) months. In case of non-compliance, the application is rejected.

Provided that the Intellectual Property Section is satisfied that all, depending on the case, legal requirements have been met, it proceeds with the filing of the correction, the updating of the trademarks register and its publication in the Official Gazette.

In case you wish to request the issuance of certified or uncertified copies, you may submit an application for obtaining trademark's certified copies.
