Obtaining an International Patent
Granting an International Patent application number
Provided that the Intellectual Property Section is satisfied that all, depending on the case, legislation requirements have been met, it provides an international application number and sends the application to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
Subsequently, the applicant or their authorised agent must follow the procedure provided for by the PCT Treaty, in consultation with the WIPO and the offices of the countries/territories concerned for which protection is requested. For further information, visit the webpage of WIPO.
