Granting a National Patent
Applying for a national patent
Once you have ensured that your invention meets all prerequisites for protection and provided that you have searched for availability among the registered patents and the applications for registration of patents, you can proceed with the submission of an application for granting a patent in the Republic of Cyprus.
Submission of application
The application for granting a national patent (form Π.9) is submitted, by hand / post, to the Department of the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property, accompanied by:
- the description;
- the claims;
- the summary;
- relevant drawings (if any);
- the form for Authorising an Agent (form Π.8);
- certified translation in English, German or French language, either by an affidavit or by sworn translator of the Republic of Cyprus;
- the fee of one hundred euro (€100).
It is noted that the fees are payable in cash, by cheque, through an account maintained with the Department of Registrar Companies and Intellectual Property or through bank transfer.
