Before filing

Following the publication by the European Patent Office of an application for granting a European Patent that includes the Republic of Cyprus among its states of protection, you can obtain preliminary protection of claims, i.e. the commencement of the protection for your invention prior the final grant of the European Patent up to its grant date.

The claims must:

• specify the subject matter for which protection is requested with regard to the characteristics of the invention;
• be clear and brief; and
• be supported by description.
