EUIPO – NEW NAME OF OHIM

The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), as from 23/03/2016 will be renamed to EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in accordance of the new regulation, which entered into force on 23/03/2016 (Regulation (EU) No 2015/2424.

The Community Trade Mark (CTM) will be renamed to European Union Trade Mark (EUTM).

The website address has changed to www.euipo.europa.eu.

The Twitter account is now @ EU_IPO.

For electronic communications, please note that the email address will change to name.surmame@euipo.europa.eu as from March 23 2016, although the current name.surname@oami.europa.eu.email addresses will run in parallel to the new addresses for several months.

The amending Regulation 2015/2024 also revises the fees payable to the EUIPO, for the European Union Trade Marks applications, including an overall reduction in their amounts, particularly in the case of trade marks renewal fees.

The website, e-business applications, fee calculators and online tools have all been updated in order to reflect the change of name, the new trade mark fee structure and other technical changes brought about by the Regulation 2015/20124.
