Canada, China and the USA join Designview
As of 14 September 2015, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China (SIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) have made their industrial design data available to the Designview search tool.
The integrations of CIPO, SIPO and USPTO are concrete results of the International Cooperation programme managed by OHIM in collaboration with its international partners.
With CIPO, SIPO and USPTO on-board, there are now 35 participating offices in Designview. With the addition of more than 150.000 designs from CIPO, 3,3 million designs from SIPO and almost 725.000 designs from USPTO, Designview now provides information and access to more than 8,6 million industrial designs in total.
Since the introduction of Designview on 19 November 2012, the tool has served about 1,2 million searches from 137 different countries, with users from Germany, Spain and the UK among the most frequent visitors.
