The Cyprus IP Box Regime & SME Fund Webinar
The first online seminar organized by the Intellectual Property Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association "The Cyprus IP Box Regime & SME Fund" was held successfully on April 26, 2021. Mrs. Stalo Papaioannou, Acting Registrar of Companies and Mr. Pandelis Pandeli, Officer of Registrar of Companies attended the seminar on behalf of the Department of Registrar of Companies.
Mrs. Papaioannou referred in her opening speach to the importance of Intellectual Property in the global economy and to the support offered by the Department of Registrar of Companies in every event that aims to inform and enlight the public about the benefits of registering Intellectual Property. He also talked about the innovations and upgrades related to the Cypriot Trademark made by the Intellectual and Industrial Property Section in cooperation with the European Union Intellectual Property Office and also those achieved or planned for regarding Copyrights and Patterns.
Mr. Pandeli presented to the participants the grant scheme "Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund" of the European Union Intellectual Property Office in collaboration with the European Commission. Through this program, Cypriot small and medium-sized enterprises can receive a 50% reimbursement on Trademarks and Designs basic application fees.
